Bic - Aren't that lighters?
Ok. The team started from scratch again and designed a new device
still following the old ideas. It was codenamed "Bic". Meanwhile
the market developed a new and better touchsensitive screen which
weren't that precise and bright but much, much cheaper. They also
thought that a second PCMCIA slot would be a good idea, because
one was supposed to be used by a modem.... and where should the
RAM card go?
The display kept its size. Interfaces were cut down to the serial
inteface and the design of the case was simplyfied (which doesn't
mean it has to be ugly).

The design was simpler, the pen without wire |
(Bic back)
The hole in the middle was used to fix the device with a screw
into the lethercase |
(Bic's left side)
Powerswitch, serial, two slots, penrest |

Who's jelling Newton 2000?! Exactly! Despite of using the slower
CPU (still ARM 610 / 20MHz) the Bic was the direct successor of
the actual "Master-Newton" (at least from the hardware point of
view).
The Bic was the teams absolute darling... unfortunately not the
one of the board. Still too expensive, they want to see a Newton
in everybodys hand. So Bic found its way to the secret Apple achives.
